Abdel El Farissi has more than 15 years of coaching experience most recently working as a teacher at Saluda Shoals Park and Rawls Creek Tennis and Swim Club in Irmo, S.C. While there he coached several aspiring junior athletes as well as several women's teams. El Farissi also worked as the head tennis professional at the Wanderers Club in Wellington, Fla. where he taught adult and junior athletes.
In collegiate athletics El Farissi has seen stops at Cornell, Barry University – Miami Shores and Loyola Marymount. While coaching at the collegiate level, El Farissi oversaw video analysis, hitting daily with members of the team, helped head coaches with running team practices and training drills. While at Loyola Marymount he also implemented tennis drills for the program's summer camp.
At other stops in his career he served as an assistant tennis director and high-performance program director at the Hardscrabble Club in Brewster, N.Y. where he coached several top-100 International Tennis Federation (ITF) junior athletes. At the Club Med Sandpiper Florida he managed the resort's tennis program and before that worked at the Tennis Key Westchester in Los Angeles, Calif. as a tennis professional.
El Farissi will join the program immediately as the season has already begun with the men's and women's programs navigating their way through the early portion of their schedules.
