Katlyn Mason

Katlyn Mason came to Radford in the Summer of 2015 after spending a year as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. Mason brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in just a short time to the Highlanders’ strength and conditioning department. Her main team responsibilities include Women’s Soccer, Women’s Lacrosse, Women’s Tennis, Women’s Golf, and Softball.
 
Mason has extensive personal and professional experience with a myriad of sports, including: soccer, field hockey, diving, baseball, hockey, swimming, track, tennis, volleyball and basketball.
 
While earning her Master’s Degree at Springfield College, Mason interned at the University of Connecticut and Purdue University. While working at the Division I level, Mason has worked with the latest technologies in the field.
 
Mason is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and a certified Level I Sports Performance Coach by USA Weightlifting (USAW-1) to go along with being First Aid, CPR and AED certified. While working under Mentor Coach Scott Bennett, Mason earned the SCCC (Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified) certification through the CSCCa (Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association) in May of 2017.
 
Mason, a native of New York, graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology: Fitness Development from the State University of New York at Cortland in December 2012. She completed her graduate studies at Springfield College in Massachusetts, earning a Master’s of Science in Strength and Conditioning in May 2015.
