Lisa Dalton, Radford '01, returns to coach the Highlanders throws group. Dalton previously spent 15 seasons at Roanoke College where she was instrumental in the Maroons' 10-consecutive conference titles. Under her tutelage, Roanoke throwers broke all women's school records and all but two men's records.
While a student at Radford, Dalton held school records in every throws discipline and her impact remains with several top-10 marks still standing. As an athlete, Dalton was coached by the late Hal Connolly, Olympic gold medalist in the men’s hammer
“I am so excited to be coaching with Coach Dalton again after coaching 6 seasons together at Roanoke," said Director of Track and Field Shelli Sayers. "She is one of the best throws coaches in the area and we are fortunate to have her working with our women. She cares deeply for her athletes and is overall an outstanding person. Lisa is a true Highlander and it was an honor to hand her some Radford gear to wear again.”
