Starting every game of her collegiate career, Sheila Branch ('80) was the second Highlander women's basketball Student-Athlete to reach 1,000 points. Graduating as the program's all-time leader in points (1,197) and rebounds (679), Branch was the squad's leading scorer (16.9 ppg) and rebounder (8.2 rpg) during her junior campaign (1978-79), a season which also included a career-best 36 points against Wake Forest. A three-time all-state selection, Branch was an integral part of teams that won 61 contests and sported a .670 winning percentage during her four-year career, which culminated with a 1980 Division II State Championship.
