Men's Golf Just Three Back of Defending CSU Title

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Sean Goshert (Conway, S.C.) sits tied for fifth just four strokes off the individual lead and the Radford men's golf team is currently second after two rounds of the 2008 CSU Fall Invitational Monday afternoon.
To go along with Goshert's total of 146 (73-73), three of his teammates are also in the top 20 following 36 holes of play. Kyle Bailey (Fincastle, Va.) is one swing behind Goshert thanks to a second-round three-under 69, Chris Dillow (Bland, Va.) is five-over with a group of golfers in tenth place, while Lane Hite (Clarksville, Va.) sits tied for 19th following rounds of 74 and 79.
Also competing for the Highlanders is Alex Karkeek (Exeter, England), who is at 161 (78-83).
Radford, which recorded a 298 in round one and backed it with a 297 for a total of 595, is just three strokes behind Stetson and four swings clear of Gardner-Webb.
The Bulldogs' Ryan Bell (72-70=142) was only one of two golfers to shoot consecutive rounds of par or better and will hold the overnight lead at two-under par, while Joshua Kinsey of Jacksonville will enter the final round one back.
Coming off a second place finish at last week's Landrey Invitational, the Highlanders are looking for their first team title since winning the annual event hosted by Charleston Southern a year ago.
The final round will be played Tuesday with tee times beginning in the morning.
