Nags Head, N.C. – Sean Goshert (Conway, S.C.) was the top Highlander finisher placing tied for 12th as the Radford men's golf team carded a final-round 316 to conclude the Seascape Collegiate hosted by Old Dominion University tied for sixth with five other schools.
Battling windy and cold conditions, the average individual score was three strokes higher than the opening round, while the team total was 14 shots worse.
Goshert, who entered the last 18 holes a stroke off the lead following a career-low 68 Monday, shot an eight-over 78 to finish the 29th annual event at six-over 146.
Kyle Bailey (Fincastle, Va.) placed tied for 42nd at 153 (74-79),
Michael Wade (Floyd, Va.) came home in 44th at 14-over (74-80=154), while
Chris Dillow (Bland, Va.) finished with a group of golfers a stroke behind Wade.
Also competing for the Highlanders was
Lane Hite (Clarksville, Va.), who recorded his second straight 79 for a two-day total of 158, placing him tied for 55th.
Old Dominion came from five strokes back to claim the team title by seven strokes over Campbell. St. Joe's Jim Bea and Tobias Pettersson of Liberty shared individual medalist finishing at even par.
The Highlanders will conclude their 2008 fall campaign at the Western Carolina Invitational, Nov. 3-4.
