
Nava Sets New Serbian 1500m Record at Olympics

RADFORD, Va. - Radford graduate Goran Nava established a new Serbian national record in the 1500 meter event on Friday at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, posting a time of 3:42.92.
Nava, who finished sixth in Heat 2 of the first round, was .62 seconds off of the semifinal qualifying time. The top five runners in each heat qualified for the next round, which will take place on Sunday.
He led the race at Splits 2 (800m) and 3 (1200m).
Nava was the only Serbian athlete to compete in the 1500 meter event.
