Round One Results

KITTY HAWK, N.C. -- Battling windy and wet conditions, the Radford men's golf team carded a 313 and sits 11th following round one of the 30th Annual ODU/Seascape Collegiate Tournament hosted by Old Dominion.

The 36-hole event is being played on the Par 70, 6,131-yard Seascape Country Club layout.

For the third consecutive tournament, freshman Wade Wawner (Virginia Beach, Va. / Floyd E. Kellam) leads the Highlanders on the individual leaderboard following a seven-over 77. Despite shooting a 44 on his opening nine, Wawner fired a two-under 33 on the back side to sit tied for 23rd after day one.

Kyle Bailey (Fincastle,Va. / James River) and Weston Eklund (Charlottesville, Va. / Albemarle) will enter the final day and round one back of Wawner in a tie for 30th, while Lane Hite (Clarksville, Va. / Bluestone) and Paul Woodson (Powhatan, Va. / Powhatan) shot 80 and 83, respectively.

As a team, Radford is just nine strokes back of third place, currently held by Longwood. Old Dominion holds the top spot on the team leaderboard at 298, two clear of George Washington.

The second and final round will begin Tuesday morning.
