TAMPA, Fla. – No. 47 Radford continued its spring break slate Wednesday afternoon with an impressive 7-0 blanking of St. John's in men's tennis action.
The Highlanders, who avenged last year's setback to St. John's, improves to 8-2, while the Red Storm fall to 5-5 overall.
"They were our only loss last year during the regular season and maybe we had a littler extra motivation today," commented Radford head coach
Mike Anderson.
Radford's only regular season loss a year ago came to St. John's by a 4-3 margin.
To go along with winning all six of the singles tilts in straight sets, Radford ran its doubles' streak to seven consecutive by sweeping each of the three contests.
Dating back to last year, the Highlanders have won 21 of their last 24 regular season matches.
Radford will conclude its trip to the “Sunshine State” with a 2 p.m. dual at the University of Central Florida, Friday in Orlando, Fla.
"Tomorrow we will take a much needed day off before taking on Central Florida on Friday," said Anderson.
