WOODSON, WADE AND EKLUND LEAD MEN’S GOLF AT RICHMOND INTERCOLLEGIATE

DAY ONE RESULTS

RICHMOND, Va. – Radford men's golf currently sits in fourth place in the Richmond Intercollegiate after day one thanks to the consistent play of Paul Woodson and an afternoon round of 68 by Michael Wade.

The 54-hole tournament is being played on the par-72, 7127-yard course at Independence Golf Club.

Woodson and Wade alongside redshirt sophomore Weston Eklund all finished in the top-ten after the first two rounds.

After shooting a 73 (+1) in the morning, Wade rebounded with a four-under 68, situating himself among the leaders and is currently tied for seventh out of a 69-player field.

Woodson eclipsed par in both rounds, carding a one-under 71 in the first and second rounds.

“We played solid all day, but the afternoon round was exceptional and kept us in the hunt,” said head coach Mike Grant. “Paul (Woodson) anchored the team by breaking par in both rounds.”

The second-best round of the day for the Highlanders came from Eklund, whose three-under 69 propelled him from 14th to tied for ninth-place.

As a team, Radford is three-under (294-279 = 573) and is in the hunt for the championship, only five strokes back of second place.

The third and final round begins on Tuesday morning.
