RICHMOND, Va. –
Radford men's golf wrapped up the second tournament of the fall in fourth-place and was anchored by a third-place performance from redshirt sophomore Weston Eklund on the final day of the Richmond Intercollegiate Tuesday.

The 54-hole tournament was played on the par-72, 7,127-yard course at the Independence Golf Club.

The Highlanders (294-279-297=870) competed amongst ten other schools and held fourth-place after both days.

Eklund (73-69-70=219) shot his second-best 18-hole score of the season by carding a two-under 70 in the final round. His third-place feat was also a team-best so far this season.

Joining Eklund on the top-ten leaderboard was junior Paul Woodson, who capped off his solid tournament play (71-71-72=214) with an eighth-place showing.

“I was happy with the overall performance and we are improving each week,” said eighth-year head coach Mike Grant.  “Weston and Paul really held the team together with their performances and each team member contributed.”

Playing in his first tournament of the year, junior Michael Wade tallied a 220 (+4) to finish tied for 23rd in a 69-player field.

The University of Richmond grabbed the team title with an 855 and Liberty's Ian McConnell captured the individual crown, with a slim, three-stroke advantage on Eklund at 209 (-3).

Radford returns to the course on Monday, October 18 to compete in the Davidson Intercollegiate.
