CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Redshirt-sophomore Weston Eklund of the Radford men's golf team was named Big South Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the League office on Friday.

Eklund led all Radford participants in the Davidson College Invitational when he shot a 213 (-3) to place second out of a 75-player field. His four-under 68 performance on the final day boosted him from 10th to a runner-up finish and missed capturing the individual title by one stroke.

It was the second-consecutive tournament Eklund has finished third or better. He has also been the leader for Radford in the individual standings in all three tournaments this fall.

This marks the second time Eklund has collected the honor as the League Golfer of the Week.

“Weston has worked really hard to improve his game and the results are starting to show,” said head coach Mike Grant. “He has played great golf the last few weeks and has established himself as one of the top players in the conference.”
