FINAL RESULTS
CASHIERS, N.C. – The Radford men's golf team, inspired by a second round 68 (-3) from junior
Michael Wade, climbed five spots up the leaderboard to record an eighth-place showing in the Hummingbird Invitational on Tuesday.
The two-day, 36-hole event was played on the par-71, 6,767-yard course at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley.
The Highlanders (296-288, 584) concluded the 2010 fall campaign by firing a four-over 288 on the final day for their fifth consecutive Top-10 finish.
Wade (75-68, 143) matched his best round of the year by tallying four birdies and ascended 40 positions up the individual leaderboard to finish in a tie for 13th place.
“We had a very solid round today and a it was a good way to finish the fall,” commented head coach
Mike Grant. “Mike really played well today in tough conditions and had a tremendous fall.”
Sophomore
Wade Wawner recorded a two-over 73 and wrapped up his tournament tied for 20th out of 99 competitors.
Freshman
Matt Harman was also very solid for Radford, as he shot a six-over 148 to grab a tie for 42nd place.
