FINAL RESULTS
CHARLESTON, S.C. – Despite sitting third after 36 holes, the Radford men's golf team carded a final round 301 to finish seventh out of 15 teams at the Wendy's Charleston Shootout hosted by Charleston Southern.
The Highlanders, who were in second place at six-over par, including a team-best four-under in round two before play was suspended due to darkness Sunday evening, concluded their second round with a 294.
The two-day, 15-team tournament was played on the Par 72, 6,919-yard Links at Stono Ferry layout.
Nationally-ranked Georgia (-18) claimed the team title by 20 strokes over College of Charleston. Just eight strokes separated seventh-place Radford (298-294-301=893) and Stephen F. Austin, which came home third at 885.
Michael Wade (Floyd, Va. / Floyd), who shared the individual lead with the Bulldogs' Russell Henley after 27 holes, finished tied for 13th with a 54-hole total of 219 (71-73-75).

Weston Eklund (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) was in contention after two rounds before suffering a six-over 78 in his final round to place tied for 16th (71-71-78).
Kyle Bailey (Fincastle,Va. / James River) shot the Highlanders' lowest final round to place 33rd, while
Brixton Albert (Lititz, Pa / Warwick) and
Paul Woodson (Powhatan, Va. / Powhatan) placed tied for 56th and 61st, respectively.
Henley fired three consecutive rounds of three-under 69 to capture individual medalists by one swing over teammate Harris English.
Radford will enjoy an 11-day break before resuming its spring slate at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate March 12-14.
