Radford looks to extend a three-game winning streak on Wednesday, when the Highlanders head to North Carolina A&T for a 5 p.m. non-conference midweek contest.
Following a weekend sweep of Rider, the Highlanders are on their longest winning streak of the season and have a 6-4 record in their last 10 games.
Pitching has been key of late for Radford, with the staff posting a 1.73 ERA over the last three games. In the three-game streak, opponents are hitting just .206 off Highlander pitching (19 hits in 26 innings) while striking out 15 hitters against seven walks.
Offensively,
Raphael Turner is five for his last nine plate appearances (.556) with a .636 on-base percentage and three stolen bases over the last three games. Turner carries a four-game hit streak into Wednesday's game (7-for-13).
Brett Mollenhauer drove in four runs over the weekend, with all of his RBIs coming in Radford's 7-2 win over Rider on Saturday.
North Carolina A&T has won two in a row and three of the last five. The Aggies swept Division I transition team North Carolina Central in a two-game set over the weekend, outscoring the Eagles 45-8 in the home-and-home series. North Carolina A&T also has wins over Ohio, Campbell, and New Jersey Tech. Designated hitter/pitcher Nick Rogers leads the way offensively, hitting .380 with five homers, 21 RBIs and a .475 on-base percentage. As a team, the Aggies are hitting .304 and have a 6.87 team ERA.
The two teams last met in 2008, when the Aggies took two of three from Radford on March 14-16. The series is even at 9-9.
