RADFORD, Va. –
Ivan Salec of the Radford men's tennis team has been named the Big South Choice Hotels Co-Player of the Week for matches played March 8-14, as announced Tuesday afternoon by the Conference office.
For the week, Salec posted a combined record of 7-1 in both singles and doubles.
"Ivan has stepped up in big matches against nationally-ranked teams and has solidified his place as the number one player on our nationally-ranked team," said Radford head coach
Mike Anderson.
Ranked 79th in the most recent ITA rankings, the junior finished the week with a 4-0 mark at the top singles position, including a win over No. 117 Sven Vloedgraven of Binghamton.
In doubles, he partnered with
Thomas Dehaen to conclude the week with a 3-1 record.
Along with Salec, Liberty's Chad Simpson shared this week's honor with the two-time all-conference selection.
Radford will host Elon its home opener Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m.
