CLINTON, S.C. – The Radford men's tennis team recorded their fourth straight win with a 7-0 blanking of Presbyterian in Big South action Saturday morning at the PC Tennis Complex.
Along with winning 27 of their last 28 league matches, the Highlanders improved to 6-8 overall and 1-0 in the conference, while PC falls to 5-14 and remains winless against Big South foes.
In a match that took just 2 hours and 35 minutes to decide, Radford wasted little time grabbing a 1-0 lead by winning the top two doubles matches by an 8-2 margin before securing the sweep with an 8-3 decision on court three.
The Highlanders' impressive play continued into singles action as they won four of the six matches in straight sets.
Ivan Salec and
Igor Ogrizek, who both entered winners of nine straight, extended their streaks and Radford's lead to 3-0 with convincing victories at positions one and three, respectively.
Shortly after
Zack Watson clinched the dual with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph on court four,
Erik Finkenbrink recorded a 6-1, 6-2 defeat of James Zaher.
With the match in hand, freshmen
Thomas Dehaen and
