FINAL RESULTS
FLORENCE, S.C. – The Radford men's golf team climbed one spot in the team standings by shooting a 293 in the final round to finish seventh in the Spring Hill Suites Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
Radford concluded the first tournament of the fall campaign with a 54-hole total of 877 (295-289-293).
The two-day tournament was played on the par-72, 7,062-yard course at the Country Club of South Carolina.
As a team, the Highlanders finished just three strokes out of fifth place.
Senior
Lane Hite improved his score by three strokes and climbed 11 spots up the leaderboard during his final round even-par 72 to finish tied for 22nd at three-over.
Junior
Weston Eklund, and sophomore
Wade Wawner joined Hite in the individual standings, carding three-over 219 performances, as well.
Sophomore
Paul Woodson and freshman
Matt Harman finished tied for 44th, recording a nine-over 225.
“Every player contributed and I was pleased with our consistent play as a team,” said head coach
Mike Grant.
The Highlanders represented one of four schools from the Big South competing in the tournament and finished the highest among those participating.
The fall slate for men's golf continues at the Spider Intercollegiate played at the Independence Golf Club on Oct. 11-12.
