FINAL RESULTS
CASHIERS, N.C. – Senior
Michael Wade (Floyd, Va./Floyd) of the Radford men's golf team wrapped up his fall campaign with a career-best finish (T-4th) at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon.
Wade carded an even-par final round and finished at three-under 139, which also became a new 36-hole low. He was only four shots off first-place honors, which went to Kristopher Gray of Gardner-Webb. It was also Wade's fourth straight Top-10 showing.
Radford (298-294) had a more productive second round, shedding four strokes off its first day performance and finished 11th overall with a 592 (+24).
The 36-hole fall finale was held on a par-71, 6,767-yard layout at Sapphire Valley Golf Club and featured 17 teams and 93 players.
Redshirt-junior
Weston Eklund (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) finished tied for 42nd with a seven-over 144.
Playing in his first tournament of 2011-12, sophomore
Matt Harman (Roanoke, Va./Cave Spring) carded the second-best round of the day (73) for the Highlanders and tied for 57th.
The Highlanders are on break until Feb. 19-21 when they compete in the Wexford Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C.
