MEN’S GOLF IN THIRD AFTER DAY ONE OF WENDY’S CHARLESTON SHOOTOUT

HOLLYWOOD, S.C. – The Radford men's golf team, led by even-par 144 performances by Lane Hite and Michael Wade, currently sits third after day one of the Wendy's Charleston Shootout on Monday.

After shooting a 294 in the first round, the Highlanders fired right back over the next 18 holes with a one-over 289, for a 36-hole total of 583 (+7), leading 12 other teams in the field, including four Big South foes.

Hite (72-72=144, E) carded six birdies on the day while Wade recorded four birdies and had an eagle after the first day.

Hite (t-10th), Wade (t-10th) and junior Paul Woodson (t-14th) are currently in the top-15 among the individual leaderboard. Woodson had a solid start to his spring, tallying a one-over 145.

Freshman Matt Harman joined Wade as the other Highlander with a birdie on the day en route to wrapping up his 36-hole total with a six-over 150.

The tournament is being played on the par-72, 6,922-yard course at the Links at Stono Ferry. Radford will tee off the third round tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m.
