PINEHURST, N.C. – Redshirt-sophomore Weston Eklund's one-over 72 highlighted Radford men's golf action after the first round of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate on Friday.

Eklund positioned himself in a tie for 10th in a 93-player field after the first 18 holes and sits just three strokes back of the individual leader Brian Churchill-Smith of Eastern Michigan.  He carded two birdies on the back nine and three on the afternoon.

Juniors Paul Woodson and Michael Wade each recorded four-over 75 days, helping Radford to a 10th-place showing, 300 (+16), after the first day.

The Highlanders will return to the course on Saturday, March 12 to begin second round action. Live scoring is available on www.golfstat.com.
