RADFORD, Va. – For the fourth consecutive season, the Radford men's tennis team has garnered national attention as the Highlanders are 73rd in this week's ITA Rankings.
Winners of seven straight, Radford climbed back into the poll with high-profile wins over South Alabama, Memphis, Tulane and North Florida.
“Hopefully with us in the mix now, we can move up the rankings and get in a position to play in the National Indoor next year,” said head coach
Mike Anderson.
In 2009, the Highlanders climbed to a school and conference-best 47th in the National Rankings.
“It will take a lot more wins to get us into the Top 64 of Division I college tennis, but this team is capable of doing just that.”
The Highlanders have won five straight Big South regular season titles, while advancing to three of the last four NCAA Tournaments.
Radford, which is 11-3 on the season following a 5-2 win over No. 61 North Florida, travels to UNC Asheville for a 1 p.m. contest Sunday.
