MEN’S TENNIS REMAINS UNBEATEN IN BIG SOUTH WITH 6-1 WIN OVER CAMPBELL

RADFORD, Va. – Radford continued its impressive run in Big South play with a 6-1 victory over Campbell in men's tennis action Saturday afternoon at the RU Tennis Courts.

The Highlanders, who have won 51 of their last 56 matches against league competition, improved to 12-3 overall and 4-0 in the conference.

“This was a good win against a very well-coached team,” said Radford head coach Mike Anderson. “Though we haven't peaked yet, we continue to get better each time we step on the courts, which is what you are looking for at this point of the season. We are looking forward to our match with Winthrop tomorrow.”

With the doubles portion tied one win each, the Highlanders' top duo of Nicholas Sayer and Thomas Dehaen rallied from a 4-1 deficit and held off Adrien Rossignon and Josep Baro, 9-8 (2), to secure the team point. Igor Ogrizek and Stijn Meulemans provided the other triumph with a convincing 8-3 decision on court three.

Joe Mills wasted little time pushing the Highlanders lead to 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Iwdal August at the No. 5 singles position.

Shortly after Ogrizek (7-6 (5), 6-3) extended Radford's advantage to 3-0, Dehaen (6-3, 6-2) clinched the match with a straight-set win of his own on court four.

The Highlanders also got three-set singles victories from Meulemans (6-2, 4-6, 6-3) and Sayer (6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (2)).

Sayer, who entered 78^th in the ITA Rankings, improved to 25-7 on the season with his 12^th consecutive win for Radford, which has won 51 of its last 53 at home.

Steven Billington provided the lone point for Campbell (7-9, 2-3 Big South), holding off Patrick O'Keefe, 7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-1, at the final singles position.

Radford will conclude its homestand tomorrow with a 1 p.m. dual against league-rival Winthrop. The Highlanders and Eagles have met in the last six Big South title matches, with Radford winning four of the last five.
