RADFORD BLANKS GEORGE FOX UNIVERSITY

VANCOUVER, Wash. – Radford began its Spring Break trip to the Pacific Northwest with a 7-0 victory over George Fox University in non-conference men's tennis action Monday at Club Green Meadows. The Highlanders will take on No. 38 Oregon this evening at 8 p.m. (EST).

Radford (7-1), which rested three starters in its match with the Bruins (4-5), got convincing straight-set singles victories from Thomas Dehaen (6-0, 6-1), Joe Mills (6-1, 6-0), Patrick O'Keefe (6-1, 6-0) and Randall Carter (6-0, 6-2).

Sophomore Alex Metzner (6-4. 7-5) also recorded a two-set win for the Highlanders, while Javier Waase held off Andy Tweet in three sets (7-6, 0-6, 6-3) on court six to secure the sweep.

With the match already decided, the Highlanders won the only two doubles matches that were played.

Following its match with the Ducks, Radford returns to the courts Wednesday with a 4:30 p.m. (EST) dual at No. 35 Boise State before wrapping up Spring Break with No. 45 Portland Friday afternoon.
