NO. 73 MEN’S TENNIS DEFEATS BLUEFIELD STATE, 6-1

RADFORD, Va. – Shortly after capturing the Big South regular season title, Radford returned to the courts Saturday afternoon and defeated Bluefield State, 6-1, in non-conference men's tennis action at the RU Tennis Courts.

The Highlanders, who have won 55 of their last 57 at home, improved to 16-4 on the spring.

Radford grabbed the early 1-0 advantage with 8-3 victories from its top two doubles teams.

In singles, the Highlanders recorded five straight-set victories, including a 6-0, 6-0 decision from Stijn Meulemans on court one.

Igor Ogrizek (6-2, 6-0), Joe Mills (6-0, 6-1), Randall Carter (6-4, 6-3) and Javier Waase (6-1, 6-2) also put points on the board for Radford.

The Highlanders will travel to George Washington Sunday afternoon for a 1 p.m. dual.
