RADFORD DROPS DUAL OPENER AT WILLIAM & MARY, 4-1

RESULTS

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. –
Playing in its first dual match of the season, Radford suffered a 4-1 setback to William & Mary in nonconference men's tennis action Sunday morning from the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.

The Highlanders (0-1) dropped the doubles point after W&M secured points at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. The duo of Randall Carter and Javier Waase fell to the Tribe's (1-0) John Banks and Anton Andersson, 8-2. The Green and Gold took the point after Ben Guthrie and Adrian Vodislav downed Joe Mills and Patrick O'Keefe, 8-4.

2012 Big South Player of the Year Nicholas Sayer evened the match at 1 apiece, claiming a 6-3, 4-1 (retired) decision over Guthrie at No. 1 singles.

The Tribe answered with victories at Nos. 4-6, however, to claim the match. Thomas Dehaen and Mills were leading their respective matches on courts two and three when the dual was decided.

After nearly a month in-between matches, Radford returns to the court to take on Old Dominion, Feb. 16 in Norfolk, Va. First serve is set for 10 a.m. at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
