CROSS COUNTRY TO RACE AT BLUE RIDGE OPEN

RADFORD, Va. – After producing 11 personal records at the Charlotte Invite three weeks ago, the Radford men's and women's cross country teams head to the Don Kennedy Trails in Boone, N.C. for Friday's Blue Ridge Open hosted by Appalachian State University.

The Highlander women had a stellar showing in the Queen City, placing 10th out of 30 teams with a total of 326 points. Each runner garnered a personal 6K record, led by Teresa Williamson. The junior crossed the line in 15th with a time of 21:57. Malina Richardson placed 69th with 23:11, and Emily Marshall completed the course in a time of 23:18 to place 74th.

Courtney Rice was 85th at 23:32, while Madeline Thomas was 95th with a time of 23:42. Katie Hickey (24:13) and Courtney Burton (24:36) rounded out the Radford women, finishing 117th and 129th, respectively.

The Radford men, with a point total of 295, placed 12th out of 27 teams. Ryan Farnan directed the pack with his second top-10 finish of the season with a time of 25:27 (PR) to place seventh on the 8K course. Chris Weeks finished the race in 26:40 for a 64th-place finish, and Chaz Porter set a PR with a 26:52 pace to complete the course in 75th.Â

Daniel Moniak was 78th at 26:56 (PR) and Alan Weaver finished just behind in 27:00 to place 79th. Joey Hannah (27:19) and Eric Graves (27:27-PR) finished the race in 99th and 111th, respectively.Â

The event begins at 3 p.m. and will include 31 programs, in addition to host Appalachian State.
