MEN’S TENNIS PREPARES FOR 2012 OVC CHAMPION EASTERN KENTUCKY

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford men's tennis team will take on 2012 NCAA Tournament participant and defending Ohio Valley Conference champion Eastern Kentucky, Sunday, at 8:30 a.m. from Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center in Blacksburg, Va.

The Highlanders will be seeking their first win of the season when they make the trip over to Virginia Tech to play the neutral site contest. As part of a two-match trip to the Commonwealth, EKU (5-6) ventures to Liberty on Saturday before the Colonels come to the New River Valley.

Last April, EKU stormed through the OVC tournament en route to its third straight conference championship. Earning the league's automatic bid to the postseason, the Colonels were shipped out to UCLA where they fell, 4-0, to the Bruins.

Four of EKU's six losses have come to ranked foes—No. 19 Tennessee, No. 32 Indiana, No. 7 Kentucky and No. 35 Louisville.

Radford's tandem of Nicholas Sayer and Thomas Dehaen were once again recognized in the latest ITA rankings released Feb. 24. The 47th-ranked duo carries a 1-2 mark into Sunday's dual.

Radford is back on the road March 6 when the Highlanders clash with three-time Southern Conference champion Elon at 2:00 p.m.
