CALLUM TARREN GARNERS BIG SOUTH MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After firing a career-best 7-under-par 206 (68-67-71) at the Bash at the Beach, Callum Tarren has been named the Choice Hotels Big South Men's Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office Friday morning.

The honor is the first player of the week nod for the junior and the second accolade by a Highlander this season, joining Weston Eklund who earned the recognition in the fall.

Posting his third top-10 showing of the season by placing third earlier this week, the Darlington, England native led RU to its first team title since 2007. The Highlanders finished with a three-day 7-under 845 (281-274-290) to post a five-shot victory over runner-up Jacksonville.

Tarren has recorded seven sub-par rounds for Radford through the seven tournaments he has competed in, which ranks second on the team behind Eklund's 10 red-figure scorecards.

Going for their second win in a row, the Highlanders return to the links Sunday, March 24 at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate hosted by William & Mary. The three-day, 54-hole event will be contested on Kingsmill Resort's River Course in Williamsburg, Va. The Pete Dye-designed layout, which borders the James River, has played host to both the PGA and the LPGA tours.
