FOUR MATCHES IN FOUR DAYS ON DECK FOR MEN’S TENNIS

LIVE STATS (DARTMOUTH)

RADFORD, Va. –
Over two months into its dual slate, Radford finally has the opportunity to play its first home match of the year when Dartmouth visits the New River Valley for a nonconference men's tennis tilt at 2:30 p.m. Friday.

The Highlanders' home opener kicks off a stretch of four matches in four days. RU hits the road Saturday–Monday for contests with UNC Asheville, Winthrop and South Carolina State, respectively.

Following wins against St. John's, Marquette and Iowa in their previous three outings, respectively, the Big Green brings a 6-6 mark into Friday's matchup.

Of Dartmouth's six duals, five have been at home. The lone road contest came against nationally-ranked Indiana, a 6-1 defeat. In addition to the Hoosiers, the Big Green share another common opponent with Radford in Old Dominion.

Upon the conclusion of their match with Dartmouth, the Highlanders will hit the road for Asheville, N.C. to take on the Bulldogs (7-4, 1-1 Big South). UNCA hosts Coastal Carolina Friday before welcoming Radford to the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown for a 1:00 p.m. encounter. RU downed the Bulldogs, 6-1, in their only meeting last season.

Venturing further south, the Highlanders will take on Winthrop Sunday at 1:00 p.m. from Memorial Tennis Courts. The Eagles are 5-10 overall and 1-1 in league competition. The match features two teams that have combined for the last nine Big South titles—Radford (5) and Winthrop (4). The Highlanders blanked Winthrop, 7-0, in Radford last season.

RU concludes its three-match trip away from home with a visit to Orangeburg, S.C. to meet the Bulldogs of SC State (8-2). The MEAC members have already played two Big South foes this year, falling to Presbyterian College (5-2) before edging Winthrop (4-3). The Bulldogs lost to Radford, 6-1, last season.

The Highlanders will take part in a tennis doubleheader with PC next Friday, March 29 at 2:00 p.m. On the men's side, the clash will be a rematch of the 2012 Big South Men's Tennis Championship, which Radford won, 4-0.
