WOMEN’S GOLF TRAVELS TO HILTON HEAD FOR LOW COUNTRY INTERCOLLEGIATE

RADFORD, Va. – Returning to the place where it finished second a year ago, the Radford women's golf team is set to tee it up in the Low Country Intercollegiate Sunday and Monday. The two-day, 54-hole event will be contested at Moss Creek Country Club in Hilton Head, S.C. and hosted by Wofford.
Behind a third-place showing by Alexandra Austin, the Highlanders fired a 623 (316-307) last season to finish two strokes behind Appalachian State. The second-place performance was the highest since Radford won the Winthrop Fall Tournament in October 2010.
The Highlanders and the Mountaineers return for the 2013 edition of the Low Country Intercollegiate, along with the host Terriers. DePauw, Dartmouth, Western Carolina, Western Kentucky, South Carolina State, USC Upstate, Gardner-Webb, Ursuline, Akron, Presbyterian, Brown, The Citadel and Princeton complete the tournament field.
The 36-hole first day gets underway with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Radford is grouped with Western Carolina and DePauw.
