RADFORD IN FOURTH THROUGH 36 HOLES OF BSC CHAMPIONSHIP

NINETY SIX, S.C. –
The Radford men's golf team carded a second-round 306 and is in sole possession of fourth place entering Tuesday's final round at the Big South Men's Golf Championship. The three-day, 54-hole event is being played at The Patriot Golf Club at Grand Harbor (par 72, 7,120 yards).
 
52nd-ranked Coastal Carolina stormed back to overtake 39th-ranked Liberty for the overnight lead. The Chanticleers' two-day 585 (296-289) is three shots better than the Flames' 588 (294-294). Fueled by individual leader Cameron Bell's 143 (72-71), Winthrop sits in third place at 593 (299-294), five swings behind Liberty.
 
The Highlanders' 610 (304-306) ranks fourth in the team standings, three strokes clear of fifth-place Campbell's 613 (304-309).
 
Sophomore Tanner Carbaugh sets the pace for RU with his 36-hole 151 (76-75). The Eggleston, Va. native carved out three birdies on the day and is tied for 13th with 18 holes to play.
 
One shot behind is Conner Hayden, who has a two-day 152 (74-78). The freshman is not playing like it is his first time at the conference tournament. The Chilhowie, Va. native logged three more birdies in the second round and is tied for 19th with one round to go.
 
Tied for 27th is Matt Harman. The junior went out in 2-over-par 38 before returning a 6-over-par 78 to the clubhouse, which gives him a 36-hole 155.
 
Making the biggest move of the day was Callum Tarren. The junior shaved 10 shots off his first round to record a two-day 160 (85-75) and tie for 41st with teammate Weston Eklund.
 
Entering the second round tied for third, the Eagles' Bell made the most of “moving day.” Behind six birdies, Bell fired a 1-under-par 71 and has a 36-hole 143. One swing off the pace are 38th-ranked Sebastian Soderberg of Coastal Carolina and Max McKay of Liberty.
 
Radford is paired with Campbell and Gardner-Webb for Tuesday's final round. The trio will go off the par-4 first hole at 8:30 a.m.
 
The winner of the conference championship will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Golf Regionals, May 16-18, at six select locations around the country.
 
Following the conclusion of the final round, the Big South Conference will announce its annual award winners (all-conference, Player of the Year, Coach of the Year and Freshman of the Year) at a special awards ceremony.
