MEULEMANS EXTENDS WIN STREAK TO 10, RADFORD FALLS AT WINTHROP

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Junior Stijn Meulemans won his 10th-straight match, but Winthrop prevailed 5-2 over Radford in Big South men's tennis action Tuesday evening from Memorial Courts.

The Highlanders (5-11, 2-4 Big South) fell behind 1-0 after dropping the doubles point and would not get on the board until Meulemans delivered his singles win.

For the second consecutive outing, Meulemans recorded a straight-set triumph as he downed the Eagles' (9-10, 5-1 Big South) Dylan Comerford (6-2, 6-3) at the top flight. After opening the season 0-2, the junior has reeled off 10 in a row to stand at 10-2 overall and 5-1 in league play.

Senior Thomas Dehaen tallied the other win for Radford at No. 3 singles, taking down Yuta Hirokawa (6-4, 6-3). With the victory, Dehaen improves to 9-4 for the spring and 5-1 in conference competition.

RU returns home to host its final two Big South contests. First up is a Friday battle with in-state foe Longwood at 3:00 p.m.
