RADFORD, Va. – Senior Patrick O'Keefe and freshman Michiel Meekers of the Radford men's tennis team will be in action this weekend at the Snyder Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Virginia. UVa is hosting the ITA Atlantic Regional, which begins Thursday (Oct. 16) with qualifying and concludes Tuesday (Oct. 21) with singles and doubles finals.
Main draw competition commences Friday with two rounds of doubles, then followed by one round of singles in the afternoon. O'Keefe and Meekers are both in the main draw already and will play their first singles match Friday at 1 p.m.
Receiving a bye in the round of 128, O'Keefe awaits the winner between Mike Reilly of Penn State and Daniel Khanin of Georgetown in the round of 64. Meekers collides with Corey Robinson of Duquesne in a round of 128 match.
However, before the two Highlanders dive into singles action, they will team up in doubles for a 9 a.m. battle with Old Dominion's Theophile Lanthiez and Samuel Perelman. The victor advances to the round of 32 match, which is scheduled for Friday at 11 a.m.
