RESULTS

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Radford men's tennis team concluded the fall portion of its schedule Saturday at the ITA Atlantic Regional hosted by Virginia.

Action began in doubles for the Highlanders where Patrick O'Keefe and Michiel Meekers partnered for a round of 16 match against Virginia Tech's Florian Nicoud and Aaron Gomez. It was a close battle all the way through, but the Hokies were able to prevail in the end, 8-6.

In the singles main draw, O'Keefe was extraordinary in his 6-3, 6-4 triumph over Mike Reilly of Penn State. He collided with Mac Styslinger of UVa in the round of 32 where the senior was knocked out in straight sets (6-3, 6-3).

Meekers played a consolation singles tilt with Daniel Gray of UMBC, but was unable to come out on top. The freshman was edged in consecutive sets (7-5, 7-5).

With the fall schedule behind them, the Highlanders now turn their attention to the spring dual season. They will head to Florida for training in January before playing Southeastern in an exhibition on Jan. 17 at 1 p.m. in Lakeland.
