FORMER HIGHLANDER BOLLING NAMED TO FLORIDA LEAGUE ALL-DECADE TEAM

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Former Radford pitcher Bobby Bolling (2010-11) has been selected to the Florida League's All-Decade Team, recently announced by the league office. The team was formed following an online vote conducted by the league for fans, coaches and league staff.

A member of Belleview (2008) and Winter Park (2010), Bolling tossed two strong years in the Florida League. He earned the 2010 Cy Young award by leading the league in ERA with an impressive 1.42 mark and a 4-0 record. The two-time all-star selection helped the Dawgs to the 2010 Championship and ranks in the top-7 all-time in innings pitched (101.0) and strikeouts (88).

Bolling spent two seasons with the Highlanders after transferring from Santa Fe (Fla.) C.C. Over that span, he made 29 appearances and 26 starts, posting an 8-8 mark with 107 strikeouts in 146.1 innings of work. In 2011, he went 6-6 with a 3.80 ERA and a staff-best 73 strikeouts in 85.1 innings. In his first season, the righty finished 23rd in the nation in fewest walks per nine innings (1.48).

Founded in 2003, the Florida Collegiate Summer League is a wood bat baseball league with six teams in Central Florida.
