SAYER, MILLS RECORD WINS AT CAL POLY

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Seniors Nicholas Sayer and Joe Mills tallied singles wins for the Radford men's tennis team, but Cal Poly held on for the 5-2 victory over the Highlanders Tuesday at the Mustang Courts.

After the Mustangs (5-8) clinched the doubles point with wins at Nos. 2-3, Ben Donovan increased Cal Poly's margin to 2-0 with his 6-3, 6-1 triumph over Patrick O'Keefe at the second flight.

Sayer pulled Radford (1-5) to within 2-1 when he charted a 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) win on court one. Through six matches at the top ranking, Sayer is 3-3. The Mustangs prevailed at the third and sixth spots to clinch the dual.

Mills tacked on another point for RU, downing Naveen Beasley (6-4, 6-3) in the No. 5 position. He remains unbeaten (3-0) when playing in the fifth slot.

The Highlanders return to action Thursday when they battle UC Irvine at 3 p.m. (PT).
