RADFORD TAKES RUNNER-UP AT BASH AT THE BEACH

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. –
Despite two of its golfers in the Top 10, the Radford men's golf team could not keep its overnight lead at the Bash at the Beach, which was contested at The Surf Golf and Beach Club (par 71, 6,920 yards).
 
Behind its 2-under-par 282, USC Upstate moved past the Highlanders following Tuesday's final round to claim the team title. The Spartans finished at 3-under-par 849 (282-285-282) to edge RU by three shots.
 
Radford concluded the two-day tournament at even-par 852 (283-279-290), five clear of third-place James Madison. Campbell and Gardner-Webb tied for fourth at 6-over-par 858.
 
Callum Tarren led the Highlanders with his second Top-5 showing of the season, carding a 3-under-par 210 (71-67-72) to tie for third. Three strokes behind was Nick Brediger, who posted an even-par 213 (71-71-71) to tie for eighth (his second Top 10 of the season).
 
Conner Hayden and Ryan Rettberg tied for 14th at 2-over-par 215, while Tanner Carbaugh concluded the tournament in a tie for 37th at 7-over-par 220 (70-75-75).
 
Blake Maum of Gardner-Webb recorded a wire-to-wire win by firing a 9-under-par 204 (70-65-69). His nearest competitor, Taylor White of USC Upstate, finished five shots back at 4-under-par 209 (68-70-71).

Following spring break, Radford resumes competition at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate, which will be hosted by William & Mary at Kingsmill Resort's pristine River Course in Williamsburg, Va. The three-day 54-hole tournament begins March 23.
