RADFORD DROPS 6-1 DECISION AT UC IRVINE

RADFORD, Va. – Nicholas Sayer registered Radford's only point in singles play as UC Irvine won a 6-1 nonconference men's tennis match against the Highlanders Thursday at Anteater Tennis Stadium in Irvine, Calif.

Sayer, who won for the third time in his past four outings, improved to 4-3 in dual matches. However, his 6-2, 6-1 triumph over Ryan Cheung at No. 1 singles was not enough for Radford (1-6) to end its skid.

The Anteaters (7-9) won the doubles point behind wins at the second and third flights, and claimed the remaining five singles battles.

RU closes its California swing Friday with Loyola Marymount (5-5) at 1:30 p.m. (PT) in Los Angeles.
