RETTBERG ASCENDS TO FIRST, RADFORD FOURTH AT KINGSMILL

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Ryan Rettberg climbed to first place while the Radford men's golf team is fourth following Monday's second round of the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate hosted by William & Mary at Kingsmill Resort's River Course (par 70, 6,765 yards).

Behind five birdies, including three in a row on holes 16-18, Rettberg signed for a 3-under-par 67. By tying for the lowest round of the day, Rettberg's 136 (69-67) is two shots clear of UNC Greensboro's Carter Jenkins and Texas Tech's Clement Sordet. Through 36 holes, Rettberg leads the field in par-3 scoring (-3), par-4 scoring (-2) and is tied for the lead in birdies (eight).

Nick Brediger put together a solid round, logging 15 pars en route to a 1-over-par 71. His 36-hole 147 (76-71) has the freshman tied for 38^th. Brediger leads the field in pars recorded with 28.

Also tied for 38^th is Tanner Carbaugh, who tallied rounds of 74 and 73. After dropping to 5-over-par during Monday's round, the junior battled back with two birdies on his final three holes.

Conner Hayden started strong in his second round, getting to 2-under-par through eight holes. He finished at 2-over-par 72 to bring his 36-hole total to 151 (79-72), which is tied for 60^th. At 152 (76-76), Callum Tarren is tied for 70^th.

Thanks to two of its golfers shooting in red figures, No. 50 Texas Tech fired a 2-under-par 278 to establish an eight-shot difference between the Red Raiders' 566 and Eastern Michigan's 574 with 18 holes to go. James Madison is third at 577, one swing ahead of the Highlanders' 578. 48^th-ranked UNC Greensboro is fifth at 579.

In a rare occasion, Tuesday's final round will be played in groups of five. A shotgun start is scheduled for 8:45 a.m. Texas Tech, Eastern Michigan, JMU, Radford and UNCG will tee off on holes 1-4. Live scoring will be available at this link.
