BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Campbell captured the doubles point and claimed four of the first five singles matches to knock Radford out of the 2014 Big South Men's Tennis Championship, 4-1, Thursday morning at the Webb Tennis Complex on the campus of Gardner-Webb University.

"Hats off to Campbell for a well-played match," head coach Mike Anderson. "They are going to be a tough team to beat, and we wish them the best moving forward."

The Camels (12-8) won in convincing fashion in doubles. Steven Billington and Dominik Kaniewski ousted Javier Waase and Janken Thoen, 8-1, at the second position. Campbell clinched the 1-0 favor when Marthinus Visser and Jean-Marc Krone dispatched Patrick O'Keefe and Nico Ascarrunz, 8-2, at the third flight.

Nicholas Sayer and Joe Mills led their doubles match against the Camels' top pair of Fernando Guillen and Adrien Rossignon, 6-4, when the point was decided.

In singles, Mills put the Highlanders (7-13) on the board when he prevailed 6-3, 6-2 over Billington in the third slot. However, Campbell cruised on courts one, four and six to advance to Friday's semifinals where No. 1 seed Presbyterian College is waiting.

Two incredible careers came to an end in this match as Sayer and Mills played for the final time in the Red and White. Sayer leaves Radford with the third-most singles wins (88) ever recorded in program history. He and Mills were part of two Big South championships and two NCAA tournament appearances. In addition, Sayer was a Big South freshman, player and scholar-athlete of the year in his time at RU, becoming the first Highlander to achieve the "triple crown" in program history.
