GET YOUR RED READY FOR COLLEGE COLORS DAY: AUG. 29

On Friday, August 29th college sports fans all across the nation will be celebrating College Colors Day. All Radford University students, faculty, staff, alumni, fans, and local businesses and organizations are encouraged to show their pride and spirit by wearing their favorite Red & White gear and supporting the Highlanders!

Besides wearing red & white, all community businesses and organizations are being encouraged to decorate their offices and places of work for a College Colors Day Spirit Contest. On the 29th from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., the Highlander himself will be making appearances to those participating to take photos. Please notify athleticmktg@radford.edu to ensure that the Highlander makes a visit if you and your organization plan to participate. Appearances will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.

Additionally, fans are being asked to help Radford University compete in the College Colors Day Spirit Cup. To earn points for RU, fans can post to Instagram and Twitter using Tweet #CollegeColors AND Tweet #GoHighlanders, as well as download the College Colors Day smartphone application. Fans may also enter for a chance to win an all-expense paid trip to North Texas and a pair of tickets to the College Football Playoff National Championship.

College Colors Day at RU will conclude with a cookout and tailgate for students powered by Radford University's Student Government Association (SGA). This will take place at Cupp Stadium starting at 6:00 p.m., followed by the Women's Soccer home opener vs. Villanova at 7:00 p.m. More information on the initiative and additional ways to participate may be found here.
