HIGHLANDERS IN HUNT AT JOE FEAGANES INVITATIONAL

ROUNDS 1-2

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. –
The Radford men's golf team posted a 5-over-par 573 (282-291) and is tied for third following Monday's first and second rounds of the Joe Feaganes Invitational hosted by Marshall at the par 71, 6,573-yard Guyan Golf and Country Club.

Through 18 holes, RU was in second place (two shots off the pace set by Cleveland State) thanks to three Highlanders shooting at-or-below par. However, the second 18 did not go as well, leaving Radford eight shots behind 36-hole leader Youngstown State. The Penguins fired a 3-under-par 565 (284-281) and lead Cincinnati by five strokes. The Highlanders are tied with Cleveland State, while Eastern Kentucky and William & Mary are tied for fifth at 580.
At the top of the leaderboard for Radford is Tanner Carbaugh. The senior continued his steady play he has been known for throughout his career by signing for an even-par 142 (71-71), which is tied for ninth. Ryan Rettberg and Conner Lewis are tied for 16th at 1-over-par 143. Rettberg returned the Highlanders' best round of the day, a 3-under-par 68, to the clubhouse during the opening 18.

Making his collegiate debut for RU, Myles Creighton is tied for 35th at 5-over-par 147 (73-74). Conner Hayden rounds out the lineup at 6-over-par 148 (71-77), which is tied for 42nd.
Bowling Green's Jose Narro leads the 92-golfer field at 7-under-par 135 (69-66). He has a three-shot advantage over Youngstown State's Bill Gaffney heading into Tuesday's final round, which begins with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
