  • RU extended its advantage to 2-0 when Garland Smith earned his second goal of the season in the 60th minute. He collected a rebound off a Sivert Daehlie blast from 25 yards out and ripped his attempt off the left post and in for the insurance tally.

QUOTABLE
  • "The conditions were tough today. We are thankful for Campbell's facilities staff and their hard work to ensure the game could be played. I believe our players did a good job of understanding what was needed to be successful on this surface. I thought we battled hard in all areas of the field. In particular, I thought we dominated the midfield…in the air and on the ground. We turn around quickly for another very difficult away game, and it is vital we do everything perfect from now through kickoff to have a chance at being successful against a strong Winthrop team." ~ Radford head coach, Marc Reeves
