CoSIDA RELEASE
RADFORD, Va. – Radford defender Fraser Colmer was named to one of the 2015 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Men's Soccer teams as announced by the organization Thursday afternoon.
Â
By earning all-district honors, Colmer advances to the national ballot and is eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America recognition, which will be decided at the conclusion of the season.
Â
"As a program, we place a high emphasis on our players maximizing their GPA," head coach Marc Reeves pointed out. "Fraser, with a perfect 4.0 and another strong season on the field, is very deserving of this. I think our team success allows players to gain recognition and receive high accolades of this type. We will continue to hold high program and personal standards for our group and hope that translates to a great experience for all and positive team results."
Â
Colmer is a key member of a Radford defense that has six shutouts on the season. The 4.0 business management major has five assists in 2015, which rank fourth in the Big South Conference. He is one of only three Highlanders to record a multi-assist game this season.
Â
The Highlanders, who have won nine of their last 10 outings, travel to Conway, S.C., for Saturday's Big South showdown with 10th-ranked Coastal Carolina. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
