Box Score

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford men's soccer program was able to draw a tie against Presbyterian Friday night thanks to a pair of first half goals by Brice Hall and Noel Zimbeva.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

Brice Hall nabbed his first collegiate goal as the freshman put Radford ahead 1-0.
Noel Zimbeva continues his strong season with his fifth goal and second assist for a team high 12 points. It's already the second most points in a season by a Highlander since 2022.
Just four of Presbyterian's 14 shots came on goal, but two converted into goals.
Radford was also ahead 6-1 by a wide margin in corners until Presbyterian tallied four in the closing minutes.

COACH CORMACK QUOTABLE
"We did enough to win the game, but we didn't. From a maturity standpoint we have to grow up as a team and grow to understand we can't let teams to come back into the game. We played in a way that I thought was very sharp in the first 15 to 20 minutes and I felt if we continued to do that we would've been out of sight. We fell into some bad habits as the first half ended and we didn't come out of the second half and fix it. That comes with maturity and it's what we face with this young team."

PLAY BY PLAY
The Highlanders would strike for their first goal of the match in the opening minutes as Hall was able to break through a group of Blue Hose for an open look on goal. The freshman struck true for his first goal of the season, and first at the collegiate level, to put Radford ahead 1-0.

Later in that first half, Radford was able to double their lead thanks to the foot of Zimbeva. After a play was broken up in the box, Zimbeva wasted no time rushing the ball to quickly strike for the 2-0 lead.

In full command, the Highlanders looked to hold that lead but saw it slowly slip away over the final 45 minutes. Presbyterian struck in the 51st and 73rd minutes to even the match as the tide flipped. Zimbeva and Hall continued to flood the Blue Hose keeper with shots, but none were able to land as Radford's defense was able to hold on for the 2-2 tie.

UP NEXT
The Highlanders next match closes out their nonconference slate as they visit Campbell on Wednesday, October 14th at 6:00 p.m., streaming on Flo Sports.
