FARMVILLE, Va. – The Highlanders picked up a pivotal win Friday night as Jackson Boreham's miracle strike in the final seconds of the match vaulted Radford over Longwood 2-1.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

For the second straight match, Boreham scored a clutch goal for Radford. Tonight's strike was his third goal of the season.
Hugo Roman netted Radford's first goal of the night which was also his third of the season.
Dax Booth assisted the game-winner with his corner kick, it was his first assist of the season and third point.
Radford's defense played stout the whole night, allowing the Lancers to just take two shots on target.
Radford ends the season on a streak of five matches without a loss. The last time the Highlanders went five straight matches without dropping a result was 2017.

COACH CORMACK QUOTABLE
"I couldn't be prouder of this group. The resilience, character, and belief these players have shown over the past month have been incredible. They've fully bought into what we're asking of them, continued to push through adversity, and are now seeing the rewards of their hard work and commitment. To pick up our first away win since 2023 makes tonight even more rewarding, but what excites me most is the growth and togetherness of this team. I'm absolutely ecstatic for these guys because they've earned every bit of this success."

PLAY BY PLAY
Needing a win to keep their season alive, Radford went to work early and would fire off the first three shots of the game in the opening minutes. Owen Gaisford and Booth had Radford's first two looks, but both were saved.

The remainder of the first half would be quiet on both fronts. Longwood would not record its first shot until the 32nd minute and had just one of their three total first half shots come on target. Ben Miller made the save on that shot to keep the match scoreless 0-0 headed into half time.

In the second half, the ice would break quickly and it was Radford who struck first. A pair of passes in the 59th minute by Amyx and Danner allowed Roman to get a wide open look in the middle of the box. Roman's shot would ricochet off the post, but would go straight into the net to give Radford a 1-0 advantage.

Unfortunately, Longwood would immediately strike back in the same minute to even the match right back up at 1-1. Radford would go back to work and push hard over the final 30 minutes to get that winning result. Gabriele Sellati and Skyler Denny got shots off as a response but both were off target.

Booth got off another pair of shots in the 77th and 88th minute while Denny fired on target, unfortunately thwarted by a save, just a few seconds later. Off the intense pressure in the final minutes, Radford was able to get a corner kick and a prayer from Booth. Both's kick was placed perfectly to Boreham who was all alone for a perfect header that screamed past the opposing goalie for the deciding goal in the 90th minute. Radford would hold on over the final remaining seconds to pick up the crucial 2-1 win.
