MEN’S GOLF TIES FOR SEVENTH AT WEATHER-SHORTENED WEXFORD INTERCOLLEGIATE

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Radford men's golf team tied for seventh at the Wexford Intercollegiate after completing its second round Tuesday morning. Due to winter weather, the final round was canceled at the par 72, 6,913-yard Wexford Plantation on Hilton Head Island.
Wofford claimed the team title with its 586 (290-296). No. 46 Georgia Southern and Charleston Southern tied for second, seven shots back at 593. Tournament host Francis Marion placed fourth with its 598, followed by USC Aiken (600) and VCU (601). The Rams were four swings clear of Radford and Cleveland State. RU carded rounds of 296 and 309.
Ryan Rettberg led the Highlanders by tying for ninth place at 2-over-par 146 (70-76). Conner Hayden was five shots behind in a tie for 22nd place with his 151 (70-81).
Tanner Carbaugh logged a 153 (76-77) to tie for 36th, while Callum Cochrane posted the best second round for RU en route to a 157 (82-75) and a tie for 58th. Nick Brediger rounded out the lineup by tying for 77th at 161 (80-81).
Western Carolina's J.T. Poston, who ranks 79th in the nation, tallied a one-shot victory over Adam Ball of VCU. Poston charted a 2-under-par 142 (69-73) for his 36 holes.
Radford returns to the links March 2-3 at the Davidson Invitational hosted by the Wildcats at River Run Country Club in Davidson, N.C.
