MEN’S TENNIS CRUISES PAST NORTH CAROLINA A&T, 7-0

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford men's tennis team swept North Carolina A&T, 7-0, Tuesday afternoon at the Radford University Tennis Complex.

RU (3-7) only dropped a combined four games in doubles action en route to the early 1-0 edge. Janken Thoen and Jose Moreno Manzano were the first to finish, defeating Joshua Bailey and Nicholas Whitehead, 6-1, on court two.

Michiel Meekers and Nikhil Mannepalli clinched the doubles point with their 6-1 triumph over Dreshaun Jarmon and Kyle Scott at the third flight. The Highlanders completed the doubles sweep when Patrick O'Keefe and Javier Waase handed Brett Caban and John Wilson IV a 6-2 loss at the No. 1.

Taylor quickly extended Radford's advantage to 2-0 over the Aggies (0-11), blanking Keiston France at the sixth position (6-0, 6-0). Thoen dispatched Scott at the No. 5 (6-1, 6-2) to push the Highlanders' lead to 3-0. Mannepalli clinched the dual on court two, downing Bailey in straight sets (6-1, 6-1).

O'Keefe won his sixth straight match at No. 1 singles, defeating Jarmon, 6-0, 6-4. The senior improved to 7-2 at the top flight. Moreno Manzano and Meekers finished off the sweep with their straight-set victories at the fourth and third flights, respectively.

Radford now hits the road for Wednesday's 2 p.m. Big South battle at UNC Asheville.
