NO. 39 PENN DOWNS MEN’S TENNIS, 5-2

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men's tennis team, ranked 39^th in the latest ITA national poll, improved to 10-1 following Saturday's 5-2 victory over Radford at Hecht Tennis Center.

"This was great competition for us to open our spring break," head coach Mike Anderson expressed. "It allowed us to play a nationally-ranked program that competes at a very high level. We are continuing to improve, and our best tennis is ahead of us."

After the Quakers earned the doubles point, Patrick O'Keefe evened the match at the top flight. The senior captain was ahead, 5-4, in his battle against Vim De Alwis before his opponent retired due to injury. It was just De Alwis' second loss at the No. 1 singles position in Penn's 11 dual matches.

Also earning a point for the Highlanders (1-3) was sophomore Janken Thoen, who outlasted Marshall Sharp (6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7)) in three sets at the sixth flight.

RU continues its spring break trip Monday with a 5 p.m. match against Navy in Annapolis, Md.
